Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! I am thrilled to have your child in my Kindergarten class and I welcome this opportunity to introduce myself.

I received a B.S. in Psychology and a Virginia teaching license for grades N, K-8 from Longwood College (now Longwood University). My first teaching experience was in my hometown of Colonial Heights, VA, where I taught full day Kindergarten for five years. After meeting my husband, we moved to Wiesbaden, Germany where I taught first-grade for one year and Kindergarten for two years for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. Moving back to the United States, I took a year off of teaching to stay at home with our infant son while we lived in Platte City, MO. During the 2003-2004 school year, I returned to the classroom teaching Kindergarten with Prince William County Public Schools at Bristow Run Elementary School. This year begins my thirteenth year of teaching—time does fly!

My husband, Jim and I live in Bristow, VA with our six-year old son, Dylan. In my free-time I enjoy traveling with my family, reading and scrapbooking.

Our class is fortunate to have Mrs. Birgitta Kerry as our teacher assistant. She and I will work as a team in order to provide your child with wonderful learning experiences.

We are looking forward to meeting you and your child at Bristow Run Elementary School’s Open House on Friday, August 29th at 9:00 a.m. This will give your child an opportunity to become familiar with our school and classroom. Please have your child bring his/her school supplies to Open House so that we are ready to learn on the first day of school.
